Found something broken in RoastSource? Here's how to report it so I can fix it quickly.
What to Include
What happened — Describe what went wrong. "It didn't work" isn't enough. "I tapped Save after a Quick Roast and the screen went blank — the roast didn't appear in my history" is perfect.
What you expected — What should have happened instead?
Steps to reproduce — Can you make it happen again? If so, what's the sequence?
- Open module X
- Tap Y
- Enter Z
- Bug appears
Your setup:
- Device (phone model, tablet, computer)
- Browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
- How you access the app (app.roastsource.com, home screen shortcut, etc.)
Screenshot — If you can capture what you see, attach it. A picture of a weird layout or an error message saves a lot of back-and-forth.
What Happens After You Report
I read every bug report. For most issues, I'll reply with either:
- A fix timeline ("Fixed — will ship in the next update")
- A question if I need more detail to reproduce it
- A workaround if there's a temporary solution
Critical bugs (data loss, crashes, blocking workflows) get priority. UI glitches and cosmetic issues are tracked and batched into regular updates.
Not Sure If It's a Bug?
Post it anyway. If it turns out to be a "works as designed but could be clearer" situation, that's useful feedback too — it goes into the UX Friction Log.
Common Non-Bugs
- App looks different after update — Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on desktop, or clear the browser cache). The app caches aggressively for offline performance.
- Data seems missing — Check Settings → Sync. If you recently cleared your browser data, you may need to restore from a backup.
- Features are hidden — Check your Display Mode in Settings. Craft mode intentionally hides advanced features. Switch to Journey or Science to see everything.
