Why This Format?
When someone posts "I roasted a Colombian medium and it was great," there's nothing anyone can learn from that. But when you share the specific times, temps, and roaster, other people can try your profile on the same bean (or a similar one) and compare results. That's how we all get better.
You don't need to fill in every field. Share what you tracked. Even just the bean, roaster, milestones, and tasting notes is valuable.
Tips
- Rest matters. Many coffees taste completely different at 3 days vs. 7 days vs. 14 days off roast. Note when you tasted it.
- Brew method matters. The same roast can taste great as pour-over and flat as espresso (or vice versa). Say how you brewed it.
- "Failed" profiles are useful too. If you baked a batch or scorched it, sharing what went wrong helps others avoid the same mistake.
